Description: In the wake of the October 17, 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake, Caltrans commissioned an oral history project to document the personal and professional experiences of Caltrans employees who worked to restore the State's damaged transportation system. At the time of the Loma Prieta Earthquake, David Tenorio was a Junior Civil Engineer for Caltrans. In this interview David recounts his particular experience during and after the earthquake riding the Caltrain bound for San Jose. The rest of the interview focuses on his view of how the earthquake impacted Caltrain during commute hours.
